Zirconia Crown Price in Pakistan: Zirconia vs PFM vs E-max
Zirconia crowns are priced by material, tooth and preparation. Here is how zirconia compares with PFM and E-max, and what a quote should show.
This guide relates to our zirconia crowns & veneers treatment.
What a zirconia crown is
A zirconia crown is a tooth-coloured cap that covers a damaged tooth. It is made from zirconia, a strong ceramic that contains no metal. The crowns and veneers we offer in Multan include zirconia, porcelain fused to metal and other options, and your dentist will advise which suits the tooth.
We do not publish a figure in this article. Crown prices are set per tooth and depend on the material, the work needed on the tooth, and the lab work involved.
Zirconia, PFM and E-max compared
Porcelain fused to metal (PFM) has a metal base covered with porcelain. It is strong and has been used for a long time, but the metal edge can show as a dark line near the gum over time, depending on the gums.
E-max is a glass-ceramic crown. It is often chosen for the front teeth because it can look very natural, and it is used for some single crowns. Zirconia is tooth-coloured and strong, and it is often used on back teeth as well as front teeth.
The right choice depends on the tooth, where it sits in the mouth, and how it bites against the teeth above and below. Our zirconia versus PFM comparison explains these points in more detail.
What changes the price
The material is the first factor. Zirconia, PFM and E-max are priced differently, because they cost differently to make and fit.
Preparation is the second. If the tooth needs a root canal or a build-up before the crown can be fitted, that work is added to the plan. The third is the number of crowns, because each tooth is priced separately.
How long a crown lasts
The Leeds NHS guidance on crowns says a crown or veneer should normally last around 8 to 10 years if properly cared for. That is a guide, not a guarantee. Biting hard objects, grinding and poor cleaning shorten the life of any crown.
A zirconia crown usually needs two visits: one to prepare the tooth and fit a temporary, and one to fit the final crown after the lab work.
Getting a quote
Send a photo or a recent X-ray of the tooth on WhatsApp, and we will give an initial opinion on the options. The exact cost is confirmed after the examination, when we can see the tooth and plan the preparation.
What changes the cost of a crown
The table lists the factors in a crown quote. Crowns are priced per tooth, so the number of crowns and the work needed on each tooth both matter.
| Factor | What it changes |
|---|---|
| Material | Zirconia, porcelain fused to metal and other materials are priced differently |
| Number of teeth | Each crown is priced separately |
| Root canal or build-up | Work needed before the crown can be fitted is added to the plan |
| Lab work | The crown is made by a laboratory between the two visits |
| Temporary crown | A temporary covering protects the tooth while the final crown is made |
| Follow-up | Checks and any later repair or replacement |
What to expect at each visit
The first visit covers the examination, an X-ray, and the reshaping of the tooth under local anaesthesia. Impressions or a scan are taken, and a temporary crown protects the tooth.
The second visit fits the final crown. We check the fit, the bite and the colour, then cement it in place. Tell us if the bite feels high, because a small adjustment usually solves it.
Send a photo or X-ray on WhatsApp — we'll tell you what treatment you're likely to need and give you a clear quote before any work starts.

Frequently asked questions
Is zirconia better than PFM?
It depends on the tooth and the look you want. Zirconia contains no metal, while PFM is strong but can show a metal line near the gum over time. We recommend the one that suits your tooth.
Is E-max a good option?
It is often chosen for front teeth because it can look very natural. Whether it suits a particular tooth depends on the bite, so we check this at the examination.
How long does a zirconia crown last?
The Leeds NHS guidance says crowns normally last around 8 to 10 years with proper care. Good cleaning and avoiding hard habits help it last longer.
Does a crown hurt when I bite?
A crown should feel comfortable once fitted. If the bite feels high or the tooth is sore, tell us so we can adjust it.
Can a crown be replaced if it cracks?
Yes. We check whether it can be repaired or needs replacing, and explain the options at the visit.
Do crowns stain?
A crown does not stain like natural enamel, but the edge where it meets the tooth can collect plaque, so brushing and cleaning between teeth still matter.
