Teeth Whitening Before Eid or a Wedding: When to Book
In-clinic whitening can lighten stains in one or two visits. Here is how to time it before a family event, and what to avoid afterwards.
This guide relates to our teeth whitening treatment.
When should you book whitening before Eid or a wedding?
Book early enough to finish the sessions and let any sensitivity settle before the day. Our in-clinic whitening is usually one visit, sometimes two, so it fits a short window. Book the first examination first, because it confirms whether whitening suits your teeth.
What can in-clinic whitening change?
Whitening lightens stains caused by food, drinks and smoking. The bleach breaks the stains into smaller pieces, so the colour looks brighter. Yellow teeth usually respond well, while brown teeth respond less, and grey-toned teeth may not change much.
| Changes | Does not change |
|---|---|
| Surface and food stains | Crowns, veneers and fillings |
| Yellowing from tea, coffee and smoking | Discolouration from some medicines or a tooth injury |
| Overall shade of natural teeth | Grey-toned teeth may not lighten much |
What about sensitivity?
Teeth can feel sensitive to cold or sweet food for 24 to 48 hours after whitening, and most people return to normal eating quickly. Use a desensitising toothpaste if sensitivity lasts longer, and contact us if the pain is strong.
Because of this, avoid whitening in the last few days before an event, so any sensitivity has time to settle.
What should you avoid afterwards?
For 48 hours after whitening, avoid tea, coffee and other staining foods, and limit red wine and smoking. Staining foods can undo the result quickly, so a short professional top-up helps keep the shade for longer.
When to see a dentist in Multan
Book an examination first, especially if you have decay, cracks or gum problems, which need treatment before whitening. We are open Sunday to Thursday and on Saturday, from 5:30 pm to 10:30 pm, and we are closed on Fridays. Message us on WhatsApp about whitening and we will advise on the timing.
What to tell us before your whitening visit
Tell us about the drinks, foods and habits that stain your teeth, such as tea, coffee, paan or smoking, because this helps us explain what the result is likely to be. Tell us about any sensitivity you have had before, and about any medicines you take.
Bring your recent dental X-ray or notes if you have them. If you have crowns, veneers or fillings in the front teeth, tell us, so the shade of those can be planned alongside the whitening.
What to expect at each whitening visit
At the first visit, we check your teeth and gums and decide whether whitening suits you. If it does, the gums are protected, the surface is cleaned, and the whitening is applied under supervision. The shade is checked with you before you leave.
A second visit may be needed if the shade needs more lightening. We tell you at the first visit whether one or two sessions are likely.

Frequently asked questions
How far ahead should I book whitening before Eid?
Book the examination first, then leave time for the sessions and for any sensitivity to settle. We will suggest a date that works for your plan.
Will whitening change my fillings or crowns?
No. Fillings and crowns do not change colour, so they may need replacing to match a brighter shade.
Can I whiten if I am pregnant?
Whitening is not usually recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, so please wait until after this period and speak to your dentist.
Does home whitening work as well?
Professional whitening is supervised and protects your gums. Home kits vary in strength and can irritate gums if used incorrectly.
Will whitening make my teeth look unnatural?
Whitening lightens the natural shade, and the result depends on your teeth. We agree the target shade with you, so the result looks natural.
